No need to cut ties with Pak now’
“Diplomacy is a separate issue altogether. We have not reached the stage where ties should be cut off. We’ll decide if the situation deteriorates any further,” he told a human chain programme of the 14-party ruling coalition on Monday..
The demonstration was organised to protest against Pakistan’s anti-Bangladesh conspiracies, violation of diplomatic norms and anti-liberation activities of Khaleda Zia, whom the coalition dubbed as an ISI accomplice.
Obaidul Quader took part in the human-chain formed on the stretch between Gabtoli and Jatrabarhi.
“No matter how many attempts are made to muzzle the truth, no power that stands against the ideals of the Liberation War and those of Bangabandhu can ever sustain itself on this soil.” Obaidul Quader said.
“We are ahead of Pakistan in almost every sector of development. We only lag behind Pakistan in that we don’t have a nuclear arsenal. We are better off without those weapons of mass destruction. Other than this, Bangladesh is far ahead in every other area.”.
Banners depicting anti-Pakistan and anti-Khaleda Zia messages were seen held aloft by members of the Awami League and its associates at the human chain.
