Businessman missing for four days found dead
Hassan, who was president of Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry, went missing since Saturday morning after he the left house for his office in New Eskaton Road, police and family said.
‘The body was recovered in the river Buriganga from near Sign Board Ghat under Keraniganj police station in Dhaka at around 1pm,’ said sub-inspector Ilias Sharif of the police station.
He said they recovered the body upon information that a body was floating in the river and later his identity was confirmed through his visiting cards found in his pocket.
The police official said that they immediately informed the Dhanmondi police station, and the officials there took the body.
‘The body had no mark of injury. We found that he was wearing the shirt, pants and shoes, which his family member described him
wearing when he went missing,’ Dhanmondi police station officer-in-charge Nur-e Azam Mia told New Age.
The OC said the reason for Hassan’s death could not be known immediately.
‘As no injury mark was found on the body, the reason of his death can only be confirmed through an autopsy,’ Nur said.
His body underwent autopsy at Mitford Hospital and the report will come out few days, police said.
Hassan Khaled remained missing since he left home at Dhanmondi Saturday morning.
